Position Summary:

Performs a variety of clerical duties where the work requires a knowledge of basic departmental functions associated with the job responsibilities, and the ability to exercise discretion and judgment within the framework of established procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, checks and processes standard paperwork associated with departmental functions, such as purchase requisitions, statistical activity/performance reports, work orders, employment requisitions, etc.
  • Produces standard correspondence, memos and reports from drafts. Checks material for spelling, etc. May complete or produce standard forms.
  • Exchanges and provides basic procedural information to personnel within and outside of the department. Receives phone calls and messages, refers matters to appropriate person within department.
  • Provides basic assistance for the preparation of reports or projects. Gathers specified documents, files, records, etc. Checks, tabulates and arranges basic statistical or financial data.
  • Produces standard computer-based reports, and maintains current information in established computer-based files.

  • High School diploma
  • 6-12 months of related office/clerical/administrative support experience.

Experience/Skills:

  • Basic use of word processing
  • Basic use of spreadsheet
