Title: Sr. IS Financial Analyst
Department: Information Systems
Location: UMass Memorial Health Care – 100 Front Street, Worcester, MA.

UMMHC is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst with experience using and managing an IT Financial Management platform (Apptio or similar). We recently implemented Apptio to track and manage our IT spend. We are looking for an analyst to join the team who will become the administrator of Apptio in addition to supporting other department responsibilities (management of operating and capital budgets, equipment purchasing, and invoice processing). The ideal candidate has experience designing and maintaining cost models and TBM reports. Strong preference for Apptio certification, or Elite or Recognized Technology Business Management Analyst (ETBMA or RTBMA) or TBMA certification. Please provide a cover letter with your application which details your experience with Apptio or another similar ITFM platform.


Position Summary:

Primarily responsible for the collection and preparation of financial/statistical data, the preparation of market data and the preparation of feasibility analyses to evaluate IS investments.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Assists Directors and Managers in: 1. ) the preparation of strategic financial plans, evaluations and reporting; 2. ) preparation of financial feasibility/evaluation studies, market analysis and business plans.
  • Prepares internal financial feasibility studies; assists outside firms/agencies in preparation of same.
  • Assist in the design, preparation and financial evaluation of new or existing operating programs, operating budgets and capital equipment processes.
  • Participates in the development of productivity and financial management models for measuring productivity and financial performance. Collects, analyzes, monitors and reports data to department managers. Works with IS managers to develop corrective action strategies for problem areas.
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures and objectives.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Health Care Administration, or related field.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

3+ years of relevant work experience. A comprehensive working knowledge of financial/forecasting techniques, and familiarity with hospital/healthcare delivery systems is required. Must possess a fundamental understanding of accounting procedures and the ability to assist in the development of a financial plan. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and present creative approaches and solutions to strategic business issues. Must possess strong micro computer skills, including familiarity with data base management systems and electronic spreadsheets.

Preferred: Information Services and/or Project Management experience is preferred.
