Position Summary:

Leads and performs studies of services in assigned departments and divisions, both clinical and operational, to provide the basis for system–wide performance improvements. Fosters the implementation and maintenance of improved outcomes through the effective management of assigned quality improvement projects.Major Responsibilities:
  • Leads and performs a variety of analytical studies of targeted programs to provide the basis for management decisions that will result in significant improvements in outcomes. Prepares and presents the findings of these analyses to a variety of groups, including physicians, nurses, administrators, other senior leaders. Component parts of these analyses may include but are not necessarily limited to data source integrity, validation of tools, clinical correlation, design of studies and design of improvement interventions.
  • As quality project manager for assigned projects, develops and carries out complete project plans to include budgets and schedules, and plays a lead role in fostering the effective implementation of desired changes. Areas of attention can include, but not be limited to clinical practice protocols, re–engineering projects, operational and administrative efficiencies, organizational effectiveness and financial performance.
  • Plays a lead role in the development and administration of Performance Excellence Programs for assigned areas.
  • Contributes to the development of strategic plans for improving quality.

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

Masters degree in public health, health care administration, business administration or related area.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

Five years related experience. Requires a strong knowledge of clinical processes and operations in a large health care system. Requires demonstrated leadership and project management skills, study design and epidemiology training, productivity/financial expertise, proficiency in statistical quality control techniques, operations analysis and quality management training. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Minimal computer experience includes word processing, spreadsheet, relational database and graphics packages.
