Position Summary:
 
The Director of Home Health & Hospice Billing is responsible for support, coordination and management of all functions related to the Home Health & Hospice Billing department. The Director uses broad knowledge of contemporary and best practice operational and management processes to achieve results that support the organization’s mission.
 
Major Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination in managing the daily operations of departments within the position’s span of responsibility.
  • Develops, reports, and utilizes performance metrics to continually improve quality and operating efficiency. Uses data to measure results against established Home Health and Hospice Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and goals.
  • Uses lean methodology, implements process improvement techniques to meet KPIs.
  • Reviews trends in Home Health and Hospice edits to ensure reporting and feedback mechanisms are in place for the root cause stakeholder.
  • Meets and communicates with direct reports on a regular basis. Provides updates on existing initiatives, new priorities and departmental updates that impact the team. Escalates issues as appropriate.

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Experience/Skill:
 
Required:
  • Seven to ten years of experience in health care revenue cycle management with at least five years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Recent experience in home health and hospice.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
  • Goal oriented with high standards for quality and performance.
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks efficiently and in timely manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
  • Previous Epic experience.
