Location: UMass Memorial Health, 281 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA.

Position Summary:

Ensures the timely and accurate input and maintenance of all data elements for assigned databases. Produces a variety of standard reports. Interacts with clinical team members as appropriate in facilitating the treatment of patients.

Major Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of related clerical support duties, such as producing reports, copying, filing, faxing, scanning, arranging and retrieving document files and reports, preparing correspondence, answering phone and relaying messages and mail, etc.

Assists in the management of patient’s information in the eICU Support Center. Verifies patient census and staff assignments at the beginning of the shift. Retrieves patient data from hospital system and enters it into eCareManager database. Reports stat results to MD/NP in a timely manner. Enters new admissions within 10 minutes. Enters new lab data within 1 hour.

Maintains and updates assigned databases, spreadsheets and project assignments in a timely and accurate manner to support departmental processes, functions, and projects.

Compiles or processes specified data for assigned databases or for reports. Gathers, and makes basic interpretations from a variety of standard source documents, files and records.

Maintains telephone contact with clinical units to assure accurate data.

Position Qualifications:



High School diploma with additional education or training in relevant applications software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. 

Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree

Experience/Skills Required:

Familiarity with office procedures and 1-2 years of related medical office/clerical/administrative support experience.

Familiarity with medical terminology and lab data.

Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills.
