Description

We are seeking a Technical AI Consultant based in South Carolina to deliver next-generation AI solutions for the State. In this role, you will leverage your foundational technical skills in ETL processes, prompt engineering and API integrations - primarily using Node or Python - to seamlessly integrate our AI Agent into South Carolina’s core systems. You will also engage with various stakeholders, ensuring that client-facing interactions are handled with exceptional professionalism and communication. 

On a Typical Day, You Will…

  • Meet with the project manager and stakeholders to clarify objectives and review integration plans 
  • Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and documentation to communicate AI solutions and project progress to stakeholder 
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand their needs and identify opportunities for AI. 
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows, ensuring data accuracy and consistency 
  • Create or enhance API integrations (using Node or Python) for seamless data flow between core state systems and the AI Agent 
  • Write code to integrate the agent with state APIs and other systems   
  • Execute evaluations to ensure that the agent continues to serve residents with high quality responses 
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions 
  • Develop AI Initiatives Annual Roadmaps for South Carolina 
  • Provide clear, client-facing communication to keep partners informed on progress and address their concerns 
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops with business partners to educate teams on AI technologies and applications 

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate closely with the project manager and cross-functional teams to define integration requirements
  • Design and develop ETL pipelines that enable efficient data processing, transformation, and loading
  • Integrate and optimize APIs to facilitate the AI Agent’s interaction with existing state systems
  • Ensure agent continues to operate with high level of relevancy and quality
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and policies
  • Document integration processes, technical specifications, and best practices
  • Gather feedback from end-users and stakeholders to guide iteration and improvements 


Qualifications 

  • Must be physically located in South Carolina, preferably Columbia, South Carolina. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • Proficiency in ETL processes and one or more scripting/programming languages (Node or Python preferred) 
  • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs for systems integration 
  • Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills 
  • Basic understanding of AI technologies including large language models, natural language processing and data structures
  • Some GenAI experience (prompt engineering, evals, etc)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and balance multiple priorities effectively 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly ambiguous, fast-changing environment  
  • Required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements.
