Join the Tyler Tech Corporate Security Architecture Team as an Application Security Architect!
 
The Application Security Architect is dedicated to enhancing the security of Tyler's development processes, applications, and operations. They'll collaborate with other Security Architects and development teams to improve every part of the software development lifecycle. They'll also lead architecture reviews and assessments and give recommendations on tools, technologies, processes, and services. Plus, they'll educate development teams on the latest secure application technologies and patterns.
 
This position has significant responsibility in setting the strategic direction for Tyler's application based security.
 
Responsibilities

  • Consult with Tyler software development teams to design secure software systems including, but not limited to: secure coding, secure deployments, securing DevOps pipelines.

  • Create and maintain a secure development guidance library.
  • Assist Cloud Security Architect in creating secure cloud-based solutions and provide recommendations on secure cloud technologies/services.
  • Manage and/or participate in security tool/service proof of concept/proof of value initiatives.
  • Drive creation of secure development policies, standards and procedures and assist with the related security awareness programs to both end users and technical staff.

  • Lead secure development, threat modeling, and security champion initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager. 
Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering or related field, or comparable work experience. 
  • Five to seven years of software development experience with a history of implementing secure applications/solutions.  
  • Five years experience with Tyler products, or similar products. 
  • Two years experience with AWS security and services. 
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, technical environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good listening skills. 

  • A clear understanding of DAST, SAST, SCA and IaC scanning tools.

  • Experience as a Security Champion and experience in DevOps is desired.

  • Willingness to travel 3-4 times per year.
