Description

The applications administrator manages all aspects of designated applications within Tyler’s application environment. This includes design, architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security of those applications. The application administrator also works with affected groups in the organization to ensure that upgrades and application changes/enhancements are tested and documented thoroughly. Responsible They are responsible for implementing these updates into the test, disaster recovery, and production environments. The administrator also continually helps evaluate the current solutions to make sure they fit our business model and helps evaluate new potential solutions. This position primarily administers one core application but may also maintains secondary responsibilities with other applications as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Administers the applications infrastructure, user access and application deployment – taking a prominent role in implementing across the organization. Support the installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance (usually outside of regular business hours) of all designated applications.

  • First line of day to day support.

  • Liaise with IT Infrastructure, Networking and other groups on future strategy of platform, capacity planning, upgrades, etc.

  • Continually analyze, propose and adapt current business requirements and map to applications.

  • Develop and maintain custom reports.

  • Create/modify SQL scripts for data mining.

  • Participate in the integration process with other enterprise systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or related years of experience

  • Typically requires 3+ years of application or IT experience

  • Cerfitication in designated application preferred

  • Good knowledge of customer support and call center processes

  • Good knowledge of SQL scripting and data mining

  • Strong knowledge of business applications and the ability to develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, validation rules and custom workflow

  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and Microsoft networking

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Able to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions

  • Can anticipate risks and mitigate in the moment

  • Comfortable under high-stress and exhibits poise and focus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Effectively prioritize multiple issues and provide resolution of application functionality questions

  • Strong ability to learn new business applications quickly

  • Other skills will be required dependent on the application for which the position will be responsible.
