The FP&A Director will serve as a strategic finance partner to the Transaction Revenue / Payments group. This role will drive financial planning: leading the annual, multi-year and quarterly forecasting processes for Tyler's 2030 financial objectives related to Payments. As a key player to achieve Tyler’s $1.3B Transactional revenue goal for 2030, this role will deliver data driven insights, establish models to support the 2030 rollup, monitor status of actuals-to-plan on a quarterly/monthly basis, and support leaders in key business decisions. The FP&A Director role will partner with the Corporate FP&A team to meet Company deliverables and deadlines.
This is an in-office role working onsite at our Plano, TX or Yarmouth, ME office locations.
Responsibilities
Budgeting and Planning
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly/monthly forecasting processes, establishing internal deadlines and ensuring that Company deadlines are met.
  • Create and monitor multi-year Transaction Revenue forecasts; including inputs from, and recommendations to, Tyler divisions related to those forecasts.
  • Work with business leaders to understand projections and forecast revenue in accordance with ASC 606. Manage underlying assumptions of merchant activation and go-live pace and its effect on revenue, payment processing costs and margins, and processing volume targets needed to meet growth targets.
  • Analyze the revenue streams from various Tyler divisions and product lines – understanding transaction volumes, optimizing payment costs, and determining impact of pricing and business decisions.
  • Assist in what-if scenario modeling related to merchant migration, product launches, and other initiatives.
  • Work with business leaders in Operations, Development, and Sales to establish and monitor their financial budgets and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with HR to align resource planning assumptions in financial plans and projections.
Managerial Reporting
  • Lead the preparation of financial reporting package for Transaction Revenue and Executive leadership, including in-depth analysis of financial performance, key trends, and strategic initiatives.
  • Analyze trends within the key performance indicators, including payment processing volumes, transaction revenue breakdowns and formulas, cost of sales, processor expenses, software capitalization, and headcount implications.
  • Create a consolidated view of Payments sales targets, revenue and expense that aggregates all divisional sales targets and P&L transactional revenue findings.
  • Presentation of financial results at an Executive level
  • Support the commission payment process.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and Revenue Operations to ensure that billing, revenue recognition, and coordination of revenue projections are handled in accordance with ASC 606.
Organizational Partnering
  • Partner across the Company to support 2030 Transaction Revenue financial goals.
  • Develop familiarity with payment products, service offerings, and platform and the leaders that support them.
  • Collaborate across various business units and across various levels of the organization to influence, guide and steer the company towards desired and expected outcomes.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A roles with public company experience
  • Proven experience in the payments industry, with a focus on fin tech solutions.
  • BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented while maintaining the ability to think strategically
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
  • Extensive systems knowledge including large Enterprise accounting and budgeting systems
  • Experience building, leading, and managing high-performing teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10-15%
