The Director of Marketing Operations directs the development and implementation of processes, tools, metrics, initiatives, infrastructure and technology that will support and improve the operations of the Marketing function.
The Director of Marketing Operations is a member of the Marketing leadership team and provides leadership and direction to the marketing operations team including technology and systems management, data and analytics, project traffic management, inventory management, and operational compliance.


  • Director of Marketing Operations prepares regular reports and recommendations on marketing programs, campaigns, and strategies directed to the Chief Marketing Officer, relevant stakeholders, and external partners. Other responsibilities include:
  • Act as the liaison between marketing and business operations departments such as legal, IT, finance and HR.
  • Benchmark the organization’s current marketing activities, performance and investment against industry best practices, and through gap analysis, develops a roadmap for improvements and business case for undertaking necessary changes.
  • Identifies, recommends and leads the implementation of technology systems within the marketing department.
  • Direct the integration and maintenance of all marketing software and infrastructure.
  • Manage the project and traffic management of shared services functions including creative service project management, asset production and campaign automation.
  • Analyze funnel performance and make performance improvement decisions.
  • Monitor feedback from the marketing team to improve processes and promote efficiency.
  • Create regular reports on marketing initiatives, business impact, and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the IT department in conducting data analyses, data acquisition, database management, and marketing automation.
  • Work with legal team to maintain and register logos, word marks, and trademarks.
  • Partner closely with the finance department in ensuring the creation of accurate ongoing budget allocations for the marketing operations department.
  • Work with the HR department to maintain organizational charts and manage job descriptions for marketing roles.
  • Create documentation of marketing software processes and infrastructure.
  • Keep an eye out in the market for new practices and technologies that will improve and optimize the marketing department’s performance and give the business a competitive edge over other players in the market.
The Director of Marketing Operations is responsible for:
  • Optimizing and improving the marketing process for the marketing team including improving workflows, removing roadblocks, and promoting efficiencies.
  • Performing data analysis and are capable of using Microsoft CRM, Power BI, marketing automation tools such as Marketo, and web analytics tools like Google Analytics to track marketing performance and recognize opportunities for improvement.
  • Conducting or overseeing complex data analyses that will be used to inform strategic decisions by stakeholders from across the company.
  • You will be working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects at once.
  • Partnering with other marketing leaders, IT and business operations to enable organizational alignment towards critical business objectives while improving the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, programs, and infrastructure.


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a business related or technical field, for example, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, Information Technology, Computer Science, or any other related field. The equivalent of this in working experience is also acceptable.
  • More than 10 years in working experience in marketing with at least 5 of those years being in marketing operations or related field.
  • Have experience in CRM solutions, marketing automation, and extended experience working in a digital marketing environment.
  • Must be a results-driven individual with exceptional analytical skills in quantitative data analysis of program effectiveness, forecasting, and ROI.
  • The candidate must also have analytical skills and mastery in the translation and reporting of data analysis.
  • Have the ability to interface with both marketing and operations departments.
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, which will be necessary for the creation of visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated, work comfortably in a fast-paced environment and within group settings, have excellent time-management skills.
  • Have an ability to think creatively and strategically, have exceptional problem-solving skills.
