Senior Manager, Product - State and Regulatory Reporting

Product Strategy Lakewood, Colorado Plano, Texas United States
Salary: USD 100000 - 140000.00 Annually

Description

Tyler Technologies is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own state and regulatory reporting for School ERP Pro, our ERP platform for K-12 school districts. Districts are required to file a large volume of mandated reports with their state education and retirement agencies. Getting those filings right, and on time, is a core reason districts choose our software.

This role owns that product area end to end: the roadmap across supported states, the requirements state mandates drive into finance, payroll, and HR, and a small team of product analysts. It reports to the Vice President of Product for School Administrative Solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the roadmap and investment priorities for state and regulatory reporting across supported states
  • Lead, hire, and develop a team of product analysts and senior product analysts
  • Translate statute, agency rules, and filing specifications into product requirements
  • Own the compliance calendar and the release rhythm that meets filing deadlines
  • Work directly with district clients, state agencies, and state associations
  • Build the cost and schedule model for adding a new state, and support expansion decisions with it
  • Partner with development and QA on release planning, test strategy, and per-state quality gates
  • Support sales and migration teams on deals where state reporting is a deciding factor
  • Document and distribute state expertise so it is held by the team rather than by individuals

Qualifications

  • 6 or more years in product management, including time owning a compliance, regulatory, or government-mandated reporting product
  • Experience shipping against externally set deadlines you do not control
  • Experience leading people, whether or not the title said manager
  • Working knowledge of regulatory product practice: rule interpretation, agency relationships, versioned filing formats, and audit requirements
  • Credibility with engineers on data models, release mechanics, and test strategy
  • Track record of prioritizing with data and holding those decisions with stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • K-12 public education, or state and local government ERP, finance, HR, or payroll
  • Experience establishing a product area where ownership was previously spread across teams
  • Experience working with offshore or distributed development and analyst teams
  • Experience using AI tooling to increase product throughput, such as requirements drafting or backlog triage
  • Experience supporting a legacy-to-cloud migration program
