Contractor Management Specialist

Description

We are seeking a new Contractor Management Specialist to join our Talent Acquisition team. In this role, you will perform a variety of duties to drive the engagement, onboarding, and ongoing vendor management relationship with contractors, both independent and through third-party agencies. This role is the owner of many aspects of the contractor engagement process and the primary point of contact to partner with managers and leaders who use contractors as part of their business model. 
 
This position will be required to be in the Herndon, VA or Plano, TX office at least three days a week. 

Responsibilities 

  • Guide managers in the process of requisitioning contractors to do work for Tyler. 
  • Ensure business rationale documentation and legally reviewed contracts and agreements are provided and meet Tyler standards. 
  • Coordinate all contractor onboarding and offboarding with detailed and clear communication to managers, vendors, IT, and other internal departments.  
  • Leverage ATS (Jobvite) and HRIS (UKG) for reporting and basic and advanced analytical techniques to monitor and analyze contractor usage across the organization.  
  • Recommend and implement practices to optimize the use of contractors at Tyler in line with industry best practices. 
  • Partner with information security, legal, finance and HR to support business needs in contractor acquisition and onboarding while balancing risks to Tyler and our clients. 
  • Represent HR in enterprise risk management planning and mitigation efforts regarding contractor use at Tyler. 
  • Provide business partner support through researching, identifying and evaluating preferred vendors for Tyler contractors across all business needs including temporary, extended-term, technical, operational and client-facing contract resources as needed. 
  • Serve as the primary ‘account manager’ for Tyler with these vendors and ensure business satisfaction with the quality of contractors provided. Facilitate vendor-business discussions as needed when issues with contractors arise. 
  • Support effective renewal negotiations in partnership with the business, legal and finance. 
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion regarding contractor and Tyler company information. 
 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 3 years of highly detailed vendor and/or contractor management experience 
  • Experience in a highly matrixed, enterprise level organization is ideal 
  • Experience in the technology industry is preferred 
  • Highly developed skills in negotiation, presentation, reporting, and analysis 
  • Keenly developed business partnership skills, with a highly collaborative style, is required 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills involving the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. 
  • Prior experience working with HR related systems is required, ideally including ATS (e.g. Jobvite) and an HRIS (e.g. UKG) 
  • Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization, especially top leadership. 
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. 
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
