Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in finance and/or accounting to join our team as a Finance Project Manager.
This hybrid role is essential to supporting the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team, combining responsibilities akin to those of a chief of staff and a project management office (PMO). The ideal candidate will document and analyze business processes and workflows, participate in projects related to new systems—including financial reporting systems—and assist in implementing new tools and processes. Additionally, the candidate will support the FP&A leader with initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and efficiency.
 

Responsibilities:

Business Process Documentation & Analysis:

  • Document and analyze current business processes and workflows.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure alignment and understanding of business processes.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage projects related to new system implementations, particularly financial reporting systems.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including IT and finance, to ensure successful implementation of financial reporting systems.
  • Manage post-implementation support and training to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.

FP&A Support:

  • Assist the FP&A leader in running key projects and initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of new FP&A tools and processes, including enhancements to financial reporting systems.
  • Provide analytical support and insights to drive strategic decision-making.

Chief of Staff Duties:

  • Act as a liaison between the FP&A leader and other team members or departments.
  • Prepare and coordinate meetings, presentations, and reports for senior management.
  • Assist in the prioritization of tasks and projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications: 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully leading and implementing projects, particularly financial reporting system implementations.
  • Experience in documenting and analyzing business processes and workflows.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, modeling and data analysis/manipulation.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems and software implementations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial software/tools (e.g., ERP systems, BI tools).
 
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar hybrid role combining finance/accounting and project management.
  • Knowledge of FP&A processes and best practices.
  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience with major financial reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion)
