Senior User Experience Designer - Accessibility Focus
Description
Tyler Technologies is seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to drive user centered design best practices and partner with our accessibility team to ensure we provide inclusive experiences across our digital products, content, and services.
In this role you will be responsible for executing designs supporting multiple product suites, ensuring all digital products and services adhere to accessibility standards. This role requires collaborating with fellow UX designers, researchers, product and development team members and promoting a culture of inclusivity throughout the product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Translate product concepts into wireframes and mockups that lead to intuitive, accessible user experiences.
Facilitate Tyler’s product visions by understanding our personas, scenarios and desired outcomes, wireframing, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences for digital solutions.
Design and deliver story maps, user journeys, and workflow diagrams optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.
Create prototypes which communicate the product vision to executives and clients.
Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions.
Make strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features.
Communicate rationale behind a user experience direction.
Advocate for development and maintenance of accessibility policies, standards, and guidelines.
Manage relationships between your divisional product teams and corporate accessibility and design system teams.
Lead divisional efforts around accessibility compliance by partnering with the corporate accessibility, legal and marketing teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, interface design, interaction design, human-computer interaction or equivalent is required.
8 or more years design experience.
Extensive user interface prototyping experience, with proficiency utilizing tools such as Figma, Miro, and Maze.
A solid grasp of user-centered design and testing methodologies, subsystems, usability and accessibility concerns.
Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1 & 2.2, ADA, Section 508, and other accessibility regulations.
Experience with accessibility testing tools like ARC, Axe, WAVE, and screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, etc.).
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-discipline team comprised of sales, product and development team members.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex design and accessibility challenges.
Proven ability to influence digital and technology leaders to prioritize user centric, inclusive design.
Excellent communication skills. Can distill complex topics simply.
Passion for accessibility and advocating for users with disabilities.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with TPGi's ARC Platform and tooling for accessibility testing and reporting.
Familiarity remediating and working with, Web Components (Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, Templates).
Familiarity with design systems and the creation, advancement and use of accessible UI components within comprehensive design and pattern libraries.
IAAP certification or similar credentials in accessibility testing is a plus.
