Associate Account Representative
Description
The Associate Account Representative is responsible for managing and expanding relationships within a designated portfolio of lower-tier client accounts. As an entry-level position, this role is focused on building foundational skills in sales and client management, contributing to the company’s growth objectives through renewals, client retention, and incremental sales of software products and services. This position is considered developmental within the account management job family, with the expectation that the individual will progress to an Account Representative role over time.
Reponsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of company products and services in relation to assigned clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with assigned clients to ensure satisfaction and to identify opportunities for additional sales.
- Conduct regular outreach to clients to assess their needs, present new products or services, and foster continued engagement.
- Assist in preparing quotes, renewals, and proposals for assigned clients.
- Manage day-to-day communications with clients, providing prompt and professional responses to inquiries and issues.
- Coordinate with internal teams and senior Account Representatives to address client needs and support more complex sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and activities within CRM tools.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics related to client retention, renewals, and incremental sales.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance sales and product knowledge.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Learn and apply product and service knowledge to effectively support assigned clients.
- Manage multiple client relationships within lower-tier accounts.
- Identify opportunities for renewals and incremental sales while maintaining strong client satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal staff to ensure seamless account management.
- Demonstrate professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
- Travel as needed, up to 15–25% of the time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer success; experience in the software industry is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess an eagerness to learn, a competitive drive, and a results-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office applications.
