Sr. Software Engineer
Description
Tyler Technologies is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer at 5101 Tennyson Pkwy, Plano, TX 75204 to perform the following job duties.
- Maintain existing application programs by fixing bugs or clearing up operational deficiencies in both previously released software and software slated for future release. Work through all phases of the software development life cycle, including research, design, analysis, requirements, implementation, test automation, and maintenance. Utilize new technologies and tools to modify products and provide integration with applications developed internally and externally. Prepare and modify program and system documentation. Assure program, module and system integrity through thorough testing and adherence to company standards and procedures. Participate in analyzing, designing, writing and testing code, documenting and implementing functionally appropriate, technically sound, and well-integrated application systems. Participate in new application development and existing system enhancements by coding system features according to system designs. Provide guidance to less experienced team members to ensure knowledge transfer and training are successfully meeting department goals. Take responsibility for the application's security profile, monitoring code scanning tools, identifying vulnerabilities, and reporting findings to the team. Play an active role in interviewing and evaluating candidates and interns to help build a strong team. Actively recognize technical debt to maintain code quality and sustainability. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all domain areas under the team's custodial ownership. Working remotely within the same MSA as worksite up to 3 days per week is an option. Must be in the office at least 2 days per week. The position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent and 5 years of experience in Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar occupation and 5 years in Java, MySQL, Spring, DHTML, JavaScript, and XML/XSD/XSLT.
