Position Summary: 
As a Technical Document Designer, you will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and visually appealing technical documentation that effectively communicates complex information to a diverse audience. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, the engineering, marketing, and sales departments to develop documentation for various products, processes, and systems. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, communication skills, and graphic design proficiency to produce user-friendly and engaging documentation. 
 
Location Reporting Relationships: 
The Technical Document Designer will be based in Miami and report to Olga Torres, Product Manager. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
Content Development: 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and understand technical information.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear and comprehensible documentation.
  • Create and organize content for user manuals, product guides, specifications, and other technical documents.
Visual Design: 
  • Design visually appealing layouts and graphics to enhance document readability.
  • Utilize graphic design tools to create illustrations, diagrams, and charts that simplify complex ideas.
  • Ensure consistency in formatting, branding, and visual elements across all documentation.
Documentation Lifecycle Management: 
  • Manage the entire documentation lifecycle, from initial draft to final publication and updates.
  • Keep documentation up to date with the latest product releases, changes, and improvements.
  • Work with version control systems to track document revisions.
User Experience Focus: 
  • Advocate for the end-user by ensuring that documentation is user-friendly and accessible.
  • Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve the clarity and effectiveness of documents.
  • Collaborate with user experience designers to align documentation with overall product usability.
Collaboration and Communication: 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and product management to gather information and validate content.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in meetings and reviews to gather insights and feedback.
Requirements: 
  • High proficiency with documentation tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer or Document Designer.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with technical terminology and the ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills: 
  • Knowledge of industry standards for technical documentation.
