Machine Maintenance Director (CORP) - 1st Shift

Join a growing 25-person team of maintenance professionals responsible for ensuring that TURBOCAM’s business units have capable, operable, and reliable production equipment (largely CNC machinery) to meet their financial and operational objectives. This role will lead machine maintenance site managers and department special staff to install, maintain, and retrofit shop floor machinery and equipment across our 8 US manufacturing sites, and serve as a global subject matter expert in the company for equipment specification and procurement. Success in this role is demonstrated through business results and the trust and confidence of business unit and senior leaders, built through sound judgment, transparent communication, collaborative relationships, and effective leadership of empowered and resourced teams.

Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Lead from company and business-unit objectives to establish strategic priorities and allocate resources across maintenance teams. Balance competing needs across internal customers and make transparent prioritization decisions based on business impact, risk, cost, and available resources.
- Lead, coach, and hold accountable maintenance site managers in managing priorities, predicting and tracking maintenance requirements, and leveraging vendors.
- In coordination with personnel, ensure a sufficiently staffed, skilled, and motivated workforce to meet maintenance needs, including clearly defined role competencies and development expectations, while balancing use of contracted support to maximize the value proposition of the machine maintenance department to the business units.
- Establish and monitor maintenance department performance measures tied to business outcomes, including equipment reliability, downtime, maintenance cost, responsiveness, and other measures needed to evaluate whether maintenance resources are effectively supporting business unit objectives.
- Lead the definition and resourcing of technical training for machine maintenance technicians, collaborating with senior technicians, maintenance site managers, business leaders and corporate Employee Growth & Development staff.
- Lead implementation and monitoring of a common parts inventory management system that ensures the company has the right parts, at the right time, in the right place, at a known cost.
- Ensure a collaborative, resourced, transparent, and non-bureaucratic process for specifying, landing, and commissioning production equipment.
- In collaboration with business unit engineering managers, envision and lead modernization of the company’s machine maintenance and procurement practices to incorporate cost effective preventative monitoring technologies and utilization measurement tools.
- Synchronize with facilities maintenance, automation, and IT teams for supporting production machinery related infrastructure.
- In collaboration with the finance team, provide business leaders with robust performance and cost modeling data to inform sound repair-replace decisions.
- In coordination with business unit engineering and production leaders, improve the capability and longevity of production equipment either through in-house modifications or through working with OEMs to correct design deficiencies.
- Collaborate with international business unit maintenance managers to promulgate best practices and technical resources, and coordinate machinery OEM relationship management initiatives.
- Act as a member of the on-call team.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Bring Your Expertise:
- 4-year technical degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- 10 years of Leadership and /Supervisory experience; demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, and develop others; demonstrated aptitude to lead managers.
- Strong financial aptitude; must be able to lead financial analysis of technical and organizational dilemmas.
- Varied experience across mechanical, electrical, and electric competencies; demonstrated aptitude to translate highly technical content to business decisions.
- 5 years of CNC or similarly complex machine maintenance experience preferred.
- Able to evaluate and understand machinery and their controls; ability to leverage strong technical writing skills to communicate technical problem sets to senior leaders.
- Highly proficient and efficient in use of MS Office products
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
