Job Summary    

GUS Education Arizona is seeking a hands on  Academic Coordinator to provide day-to-day academic support for Avila University Arizona programs delivered in Goodyear. The Academic Coordinator will work closely with the Campus Dean and Campus Manager. The Academic Coordinator ensures smooth academic operation, faculty coordination, and student academic support. This role is central to maintaining academic quality, ensuring timely communication between faculty, students, and administration.
 
Responsibilities    

Faculty & Course Support
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Campus Dean and the day-to-day operations of the  programs and classes.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for faculty on administrative and logistical matters.
  • Assist in the campus onboarding and orientation of faculty.
  • Keep a record of daily performance for faculty, including punctuality, class cancellations, student complaints, etc.
  • Schedule meetings with faculty when needed, when daily performance needs improvement.
  • Ensure academic records, syllabi, and course materials are submitted on time.
  • Provide administrative support on special projects where required
  • Create and maintain databases to support program outcomes with an understanding of the expected results.                                                                                                                                                                                     

Student Academic Support

  • Respond to student academic inquiries, directing them to appropriate program or advising  resources.
  • Support implementation of workshops and academic events.
  • Encourage student feedback and foster the open communication channels with students on course related issues.
 
Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Campus Dean, Campus Manager, advisors, and student services staff to  deliver a seamless academic and student experience.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success unit in identifying and supporting students with academic challenges
 
Other Duties
  • Participate in program-specific marketing activities such as webinars and workshops when required 
  • Perform other academic-related duties as assigned by the Campus Dean.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master of Education preferred) in Education, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in higher education academic support, advising, or coordination.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Student Information Systems (SIS).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with adult and international student populations.
  • Experience in a similar administrative role.
  • Experience in student advising is strongly preferred.

Work Conditions    
 
This position will initially work hybrid/remote, with the expectation of moving to 4 to 5 days per week on-site as the development of the campus allows.
