As the Payroll Administrator you will be supporting the US payroll processes, duties will include payroll transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting, tax and other statutory obligations and payments.


Responsibilities:

  • Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll consistent with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
  • Maintain employee payroll data including but not limited to new hire processing and termination, as well as changes in status and rate of pay.
  • Enter, maintain, track and process wage garnishments, child support deductions, benefit deductions and taxes.
  • Review employee Paid Time Off (PTO) balance report to ensure availability and eligibility prior to processing.
  • Review active employee list and compare to employees with hours and visits to ensure hours for all active staff.
  • Communicate with a variety of internal and external parties (city / state / federal agencies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accurate processing of payroll deductions/garnishments.
  • Process all new hire reporting with appropriate state entity, within in the time-frame required.
  • Investigate and resolve employee inquiries regarding questions and discrepancies.
  • Process wage employment verification and wage verification requests.
  • Process retro pay calculations and/or verify that retro pay calculations were computed accurately.
  • Maintain a wide variety of payroll information, files and records in written and electronic formats for the purpose of providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance. This includes, but is not limited, to W2s, wage garnishment and child support orders, biweekly payroll reports, etc.
  • Run reports as requested, or as needed for payroll processing.


Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field; OR, High School Degree and 3-4 years’ experience in payroll.
  • Knowledge of U.S federal, state and local regulations as they relate to payroll.
  • Knowledge of U.S federal and state wage and hour laws.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with an automated payroll system Ceridian/WFM required.
  • Experience with MS Excel strongly preferred.


Education:
We prefer college-educated applicants, but at minimum, high school diploma or equivalent is required for employment.
