The International Accounting Manager will focus on the monthly close and related activities for Trustwave’s Asia Pacific and Latin America regions.  The position will manage and direct a team of accountants who are responsible for monthly close tasks and ad hoc projects as needed.  The position is located in Warsaw, Poland and will collaborate with a number of different functional areas including FP&A and other regional accounting teams.  The position will report to an onsite Accounting Director or Manager and will be part of a high-performance team.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide leadership and manage the international accounting team to regularly achieve a timely and accurate monthly close process for selected entities, including the presentation of results, review of revenue recognition, the creation of journal entries, relevant financial reports, and balance sheet reconciliations and foreign currency transactions.
  • Develop and manage the relationship with outsourced third-party local accounting teams to achieve close objectives.
  • Oversee the organization and coordination of all relevant information (revenue schedules, salesforce reports, intercompany schedules, accrual schedules, miscellaneous and ad hoc info) to local third-party accountants for preparation of monthly accounting packages.
  • Identify and manage various process improvements to improve efficiencies, increase accuracy, and expand internal controls.  This includes, but is not limited to, making recommendations on the coordination with local firms, financial system improvements (NetSuite), accounting process/internal control improvements, order to cash enhancements (involving SalesForce), and alignment with other accounting functions in a shared services environment.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of effective internal controls and processes to assure safeguarding of assets and reliability of financial statements.
  • Manage statutory audit for each of required entities in the region by coordinating with the third-party local accounting teams, auditors, and tax resources.  Complete audits and tax returns per the established deadlines along with minimizing adjustments.
  • Coordinate and assist third party tax resources in the preparation of all international tax filings and returns.
  • Ensure that third party monthly packages provided by third party are reviewed for accuracy and proper support during month end close along with helping to coordinate a standardized format of information for entire region.  Record reporting package entries into the central financial system (NetSuite).
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly to ensure that unreconciled items are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Present analytical review of balance sheet and income statements along with any other monthly reporting requirements.
  • Assist FP&A team in budgeting and forecasting for accounting related items when necessary.
  • Serve as a business partner to the region's employees and in some cases assist the sales team with sales deals (review contract for company’s policy) or assist team members in other departments with delivery or services issues (e.g. shipping, customer issues, cancellations).
  • Other special projects as needed.


Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience with a strong background in public accounting preferred.
  • Degree in Accounting. CPA (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • International experience with GAAP and IFRS, including consolidation and foreign currency accounting beneficial.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule for better alignment with US and EMEA regions a plus.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls and best practices business processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, including previous exposure to senior management and the ability to present information accordingly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous improvement attitude.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
