The SpiderLabs Technical Project Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to work within the world-renowned and global SpiderLabs Operations team. The Operations team is currently expanding their Global Operations practice.
A Technical Project Manager to work on complex cyber security projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. The individual will lead and provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. The individual will be expected to mentor and guide lower-level employees and act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establish policies. They must have the ability to represent the organization to external customers/clients. They must be able to exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.
Role Expectations
- Coordinates and integrate the work efforts and deliverables of a large multi-function project team.
- Projects may span multiple regions.
- Manages projects with aggressive but achievable client deadlines.
- Speaks with authority to most layers of depth related to project management methods.
- Understands Cyber Security at a generalist level and can articulate Trustwave Security’s POV.
- Develop project scope and project plan from Statement of Work, including schedule, communication plans and stakeholder responsibilities.
- Manage project team activities to deliver on agreed targets and budget.
- Manage and control Cost/Time & Scope, Risk and Change.
- Manage expectations & client relationship. Ensure projects are effectively resourced.
- Deliver projects according to the quality standards agreed upon by Trustwave and the client.
- Monitor & report project progress and status to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Communicate and coordinate project activities within the project team and ensure that priorities are developed and known.
- Ensure that project milestones and targets are clearly understood within and outside the project so that appropriate parties can marshal resources and activities to align with project delivery.
- Ensure that Trustwave consultants are delivering to client requirements.
- Build strong rapport with customer points of contact and provide leadership where necessary to customer stakeholders with respect to driving the project forward.
- Become a customer advocate internally to ensure the project team are working towards the customer’s best interests for successful project delivery.
Desired Experience
- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding and experience of Project Management Methodology.
- Have a sound technical project management background gained within the IT industry managing security projects through the entire project lifecycle.
- Core competence in Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance.
- Excellent record of Stakeholder Management.
- Experience working within the Cyber Security world, managing specific security projects such as Identity and Access Management, Data Protection, etc.
- Drive, enthusiasm, and ambition to contribute to profitable growth in a fast-moving and dynamic security business.
- Excellent English Language communication skills (written and spoken).
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage project stakeholders at senior levels.
- Excellent leadership and team/resource management skills.
- Willingness to take charge and be the lead in stakeholder meetings, including project kick-offs, technical/non-technical, stakeholder updates and stand-ups and project closure meetings.
- Ability to conduct these meetings remotely or on-site, presenting to stakeholders and sponsors up to and including C-Level and board members
- Ability to manage conflict amongst project delivery resources.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Understand basic corporate enterprise IT environments and the supporting process and procedures
- Change Management - CAB meetings, manager approvals.
- Ticketing systems - JIRA, SNOW, etc.
- How auditing/compliance/IT Security works with the business units.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff at all levels in an organization.
- Proactive thinking - the ability to come up with options and solutions.

- Ability to work within the bounds of a methodology but understand that no two customer projects are the same and use your experience and flexibility to develop each project in the most appropriate way.

Technical Skills and Experience
- Basic Technical Skills and understanding of how these applications are deployed and operate. What are their purposes and usage:
- Basic SIEM technology and deployment (Splunk / MS Sentinel / QRADAR)
- Basic endpoint technology and deployment (Cortex XDR / MS Defender)
- IT Infrastructure - On-Prem vs Cloud only vs Hybrid
- Firewalls (Meraki / Fortigate / Palo Alto NGFW)
- Identity and Access Management
- Single Sign On (Okta / Lighthouse)
- Microsoft AD Authentication
- Privilege access systems (Cyberark / BeyondTrust)
- Practical experience with all/some of the following:
- JIRA
- SharePoint
- Service Now
- Salesforce
- PowerPoint
Qualifications
Education required:
- Relevant degree (University Diploma or MBA)
- Qualified in either PMI or Prince 2 (Practitioner)
- CISM or CISSP (advantageous)
