This position can be located in Sydney or Melbourne. Either location is acceptable. The Database Security Solutions Architect is a critical pre-sales SME role at Trustwave. A viable candidate will be confident and competent in security solutions across a wide spectrum but have deep experience in database security. This role is responsible for maximizing sales opportunities by architecting and acting as the Technical Lead in presenting and architecting Trustwave solutions for potential customers. You will be the resource that sales and sales engineers come to for help with complex database security opportunities. A strong background in technical requirements gathering, RFI/RFP responses, software demonstrations, POCs and sales-related presentations to business and technical teams is critical. 

The individual should be a strong relationship builder at all levels of an organization and be able to identify new business opportunities to maximize revenues. Furthermore, the individual should be self-motivated, independent, results driven, technically capable, work in a demanding environment, a relationship builder, capable of creative thinking and has a proven background of being able to deliver a solid, consistent performance in a database security environment. Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits, providing product demonstrations in person and via WebEx, and working with prospects at both a technical and business level to show how Trustwave’s database security  solutions can provide value to them 
  • Possess demonstrable skills in customer-centric selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue
  • Participate as a technical resource at trade shows and conferences
  • Work independently and as a vital member of a sales team 
  • Work with the sales team to strategize on sales approaches to develop business 
  • Ensure successful on-site product evaluations (POCs) and post-sale installations when necessary 
  • Manage regional customers based on their technical needs.

Required Qualifications: 

  • B.S. engineering or information systems or equivalent industry experience 
  • 5+ years of experience in database and/or network security, development, pre-sales engineering, or real-world use of database and/or web application solutions; with 3+ of these as a sales engineer or similar.
  • Possess a solid understanding of databases, security, risk and compliance environments 
  • Knowledge in databases –Oracle & MS SQL [Desired] MySQL, PostgreSQL, Couchbase
  • Valid authorization to work is required. No visa sponsorship is available for this position
  • Experience with Linux, Unix, Windows 
  • Experience with networking fundamentals 
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls  
  • Able to effectively present technical material to small and large groups 
  • Able to effectively present technical material to all levels of audiences (from DBAs to CISOs) 
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written, oral communication and strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel (60%+), occasional international travel, and remote global engagements (Have passport, can travel).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with AppDetectivePRO, DbProtect, Imperva, and/or IBM Guardium.
  • Knowledge in Cloud Infrastructure –  AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • Basic knowledge in one or more of the following Security, Privacy and compliance/regulatory standards, with focus on regionally significant ones: CIS, ISO 2700x, HIPAA, Aus. ISM, GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, DISA-STIG, CMMC, etc.
  • Verifiable and current certifications, including CISSP, CISM, C|EH, CISM and/or CISA. AWS CCP, MCDBA, OCP, and other database & cloud certifications a huge plus.

Education:

We prefer college-educated applicants, but at minimum, high school diploma or equivalent is required for employment.
