Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, this person will perform financial, operational and information technology audits in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) Standards and Trustwave Policies & Standards.  This includes the preparation of audit workpapers and reports detailing results of audits and recommend improvements to policies and procedures to correct problems discovered.  Furthermore, this position will assist the business in preparing for and managing audits by external parties (year-end financial audit, SOC audit, FFIEC Examination) to demonstrate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain a thorough understanding of the business processes, including process and information flows and associated controls
  • Ensure a sound risk management and effective internal control environment is in place
  • Perform audits, which proactively assess financial, operational, and IT controls and processes across the enterprise against regulatory standards or Trustwave Polices & Standards
  • Participate in governance and compliance initiatives across various functions
  • Plan and execute audit assignments to ascertain the operational effectiveness and efficiency of business processes and the adequacy of internal controls, including development of audit work programs, workpapers, and reports
  • Engage with line management and make practical and value-added recommendations, and follow up on audit findings to ensure adequacy and timeliness of corrective actions
  • Assist the business in preparing for and managing audits by external parties to demonstrate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
  • Perform ad-hoc projects, including specific initiatives within specified timelines as assigned by executive management
  • Perform any other duties as may be directed by executive management and/or Group Chief Internal Auditor

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of financial/operational or IT audit experience, preferably experience in a public accounting or consulting firm or Internal Audit Department of an established organization
  • Certification (CPA, CIA, CISA), or significant progress towards achieving a certification, is preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong report writing capabilities
  • Strong analytical and technology skills
  • Knowledge of IIA Standards
  • Familiarity with SOC Reports
  • Hands-on and able to work independently in projects and demonstrate good project management capabilities to meet specified timelines
  • Confident, able to conduct interviews single-handedly with peers, as well as, with senior level management
Education:
We prefer college-educated applicants, but at minimum, high school diploma or equivalent is required for employment.
