Trustwave seeks a communications professional to develop and manage a world-class, global communications program that supports the company’s business objectives and helps Trustwave standout in the cybersecurity landscape. This role will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver strategic public relations, social media, speaking and awards programs that maximize market, client and prospect awareness. This role is tailored for an individual that has a passion for strategic communications and big ideas that drive market buzz.   

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing a communications plan that supports business priorities and aligns to strategic company initiatives and marketing campaigns
  • Increasing awareness, consideration and recommendation of Trustwave strategy, products and services through media relations, social media, awards, and executive speaking
  • Maintaining constant, deep knowledge of the cybersecurity media and blogger landscape – particularly in the U.S. – with an ability to assess their influence, tier and priority, while adjusting media relations plans to optimize efforts
  • Managing the news release and pitch writing process to develop relevant and newsworthy content – across Trustwave’s complete portfolio of Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Managed Security Services (MSS), database security and email security
  • Partnering with and managing a global PR agency network (US, UK, AUS) to drive localized media visibility
  • Effectively communicating company, industry and competitive news and media coverage
  • Leading the company’s blog strategy in partnership with our digital content marketing manager
  • Expertise to grow Trustwave’s social media presence – specifically on LinkedIn
  • Collaborating closely across marketing, product management, professional services, our elite SpiderLabs experts and delivery teams to drive integrated communication strategies and tactics
  • Developing a strong bench of executive spokespeople and subject matter experts to support successful thought leadership campaigns
  • Ongoing KPI measurement of programs
  • Managing a communications budget
  • The applicant must be available and willing to travel for key company and industry events (domestic)

Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of professional experience in an equivalent role is required (public relations, digital marketing or journalism); PR agency experience is a plus
  • Experience in the technology industry (security market experience a plus)
  • Social media experience
  • Solid analytical skills, sound judgment and good communications instincts; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational, follow up, prioritization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate across the organization and with our network of strategic technology partners (Examples: Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks and other leading cyber security partners)
