Director, Human Resources – Asia

Reporting to our Senior Vice-President of Human Resources, the Director, Human Resources – APJ, this role will play a strong leadership role supporting regional business needs and fostering employee engagement. Evolving and scaling our people-related strategies, processes, and practices and driving flawless execution is critical to future success.

Like many of our leaders, we are looking for a player/coach – somebody who is interested in providing hands-on value and expertise, as well as managing a team.

The successful candidate will drive strategic initiatives, while at the same time executing specific programs, policies and inquires. The role will support all generalist HR functions including employee relations, compensation, benefits, development, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership & Culture

  • Establish and implement HR strategies, plan and programs that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission, vision and core values.
  • Drive Trustwave core values across the region and be the culture ambassador for the Trustwave employer brand.
  • Promote Trustwave employee engagement activities such as employee engagement survey action plans, quarterly townhall meetings and team activities.
  • Identify areas of strategic and tactical improvements in HR processes and systems.

Performance Management

  • Manage the Annual Performance Review process, provide guidance to leaders, and ensure all activities are completed within the timeline.
  • Provide guidance, advice and training to business units on managing performance at all levels.

Change Management

  • Lead change management or restructuring programs within region, including acquisitions, and integration activities.
  • Own and drive HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Deliver effective HR Services and Support

  • Build relationships with the business units at all levels and provide consistent and prompt HR services.
  • Ensure initiatives or processes such as the annual performance review and talent review are communicated within appropriate timeframe and to a desired level of service.
  • Provide employee relations guidance and support across all aspects of HR policy and practice (e.g. performance management, attendance, grievance, disciplinary etc.).
  • Support the development and implementation of people policies and procedures; coaching managers in using these to support the high performance of teams and individuals.

Talent Management

  • Partner with the internal global Talent Acquisition team to hire the best talent for the business with an understanding of open requisitions and future anticipated needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the regional business leaders and global rewards team to ensure key talent are consistently engaged; recommend appropriate retention strategies for critical resources.
  • Lead talent review and succession planning efforts.
  • Work with leaders on strategic training and development needs for key talent.

 Leadership

  • Build collaborative relationships with centralized HR support teams, COEs and the other business HR teams.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop HR team ensure ongoing high performance.
  • A role model for leadership and management excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years human resources experience in regional HR business partnering. A cyber security or technology industry is preferred.
  • Strong background and expertise as an HR generalist while also having in-depth knowledge and expertise in multiple HR specialties (e.g. compensation, benefits, employee relations, employment law, HR systems)
  • Strong stakeholder management experience at senior management level at Vice President/Director level in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Proven experience in strategic HR plans and solutions, dealing with organization strategies and complex business/HR issues including change management.
  • Demonstrated operational excellence including leading and participating in major change initiatives such as processes, systems and/or benefits alignment and integration.
  • Solid background running HR operations and services with knowledge of local HR practices and legislation in key markets such as Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan and India.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to implement practical solutions.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to build trust at all organizational levels

Education

A Bachelor’s degree is required for this role, we prefer a degree in Human Resource or similar.  An advanced degree, such as an MBA is highly preferred.
