Summary:
Tri Star Energy is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our innovative Accounting team in our Store Support Center in Nashville, TN. The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing general accounting duties of the organization for any number of specific functions including cash, balance sheet, GL accounts, fixed assets, capital expenditures, payroll & benefits, third-party services, sales & business taxes, and year-end audits. Provides direct support to the Company’s Accounting Manager / Senior Manager.

Primary Responsibilities
- Documentation of all processes associated with the role
- Respond timely with thoughtful, thorough, and error-free deliverables to both internal and external requests
- Record transactions across multiple sources
- Ensure proper handling and distribution of company funds
- Analyze and prepare general ledger account reconciliations
- Prepare routine and adjusting journal entries
- Perform month-end closing duties
- Assist with the Company’s regulatory filing requirements
- Report issues to upper management
- Act as liaison between Accounting and Operations
- Maintain confidentiality of all company, client, employee, and vendor information
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 1-2+ years of progressively responsible corporate accounting experience across a variety of functions (years depends on type of accounting experience)
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Intermediate Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or eligible/pursuing/planning to pursue. The company will support a candidate in pursuing their CPA.
- Public accounting experience
- Audit, Transaction Advisory, Reconciliation Experience
- Experience in the retail, hospitality, and/or C-Store industries
- Experience with PDI or other enterprise-level accounting system
