Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced leader to join our Insights & Analytics team as an Associate Director, Analytics RWE to manage our growing Analytics function within our Real-World Evidence (RWE) team. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing a team of statisticians/data scientists and liaising with senior levels of management to support our client needs. The Associate Director is also responsible for effectively communicating cross-functionally with all project team members and explaining complex methods/results to non-technical clients. The position requires an entrepreneurial spirit, as he/she will guide the development of innovative analytical offerings and champion the use of advanced analytics throughout the company.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Group planning
    • Set the direction and tone for the RWE Analytics team
      • Nurture an environment where the mindset is beyond the tasks at hand, with a focus on balancing standardization and team growth
      • Motivate individuals to take an active role in creating the project experience they want, and align those goals with client needs
    • Collaborate with other RWE functions (Client Engagement and Data Solutions) to deliver on projects and improve operational efficiency
    • Work with RWE leadership team to identify services that can be automated, productized, and to develop internal standard solutions to deliver these offerings
    • Advocate on behalf of the RWE Analytics team for the continued development and use of advanced analytics
    • Manage the professional development of junior staff, including project staffing and ongoing coaching
  • Business Development
    • Translate the client’s business problem into an addressable research question and collaborate on client project proposals, owning the analytical approach formulation and description
    • Pitch projects in partnership with Trinity team members in functions outside of RWE (Strategic Advisory, HEOR, Commercial Analytics, etc.)
  • Analytics
    • Oversee standardization efforts that improve project efficiency and training efforts that enhance staff skillsets
    • Advise on client projects by driving the design of the appropriate study, balancing the use of descriptive statistics, and frequentist and Bayesian statistical modeling, including machine learning
    • Support junior analytics team members on projects by coaching and quality checking their work
    • Synthesize analytical results and frame the interpretation in terms of the client’s needs
  • Communication
    • Explain complex methods in a clear, articulate manner to non-technical audiences, both internal and external
    • Provide direction to Analytics project team members and, as needed, broadly across the cross-functional RWE team
  • Innovation
    • Identify and manage internal innovation initiatives, e.g., new analytical offerings in AI/ML or statistical approaches
    • Lead specific initiatives from ideation to proof-of-concept
    • Champion the offering internally and externally


Position Requirements

Education: MS or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Epidemiology or other related fields

 

Work Experience: 8-10 years of professional experience in analyzing healthcare administrative claims data (e.g., CMS, IQVIA, Symphony) or other healthcare datasets. Experience with life sciences real-world data is a must and has experience publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Extensive experience with MS Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint) and statistical software packages (SAS, R, etc.)

  • Ability to manage time and work on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in helping develop and grow our RWE group
