This position offers an annual salary range of $100,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience. It is an in-office role based at our national headquarters in Irvine, CA.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our Information Technology team at a leading national property management company based in Irvine, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing a Microsoft Data Lake to support our business operations and decision-making processes. This position reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a Microsoft Data Lake to store and manage large volumes of data from various sources.
- Create and implement data integration processes to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility.
- Analyze data to generate insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Design and produce reports and dashboards for executives and other stakeholders.
- Create and implement a simple, no-code experience for data ingestion, transformation, and loading using various tools including Power Query.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

Physical demands:
- The team member will need to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach using feet, legs, back, arms and hands. The employee may occasionally need to climb. Specific vision requirements include the ability to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to work at a personal computer and talk on the phone for extended periods of time. Must possess the ability to detect auditory and/or visual alarms and be available to work extended/flexible hours and weekends as needed.
Attendance/Travel:
- This position is a full-time position and may require the availability to work occasional nights, weekends, and occasional holidays. The position also requires regular attendance and active participation/planning at company functions and events.
- Travel is minimal and less than 15%.
Qualifications:
Computer Skills:
- Proven experience in developing and managing data lakes, preferably using Microsoft technologies, including Azure SQL.
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
- Strong knowledge of data integration techniques and tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and reporting tools such as Power BI or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience with Multifamily property manager is preferred.
