This part-time position pays $17 - $19 per hour, based on experience.  The position will be approximately 20-25 hours per week. 

Job Overview: 

Provide safe, efficient, and customer friendly transportation using the shuttle vehicles. Follow all posted signage, road and highway laws.  

Qualifications and Expectations: 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record for a minimum of two consecutive years 
  • Must have a State of CA Commercial (CDL Class C) license. The employee must also pass all tests associated with the CDL driver's license and maintain this license while employed 
  • Any lapse in CDL licensing may result in employment termination 
  • Any driving violations (on duty or off duty) may result in employment termination. Drivers must maintain a violation-free driving record at all times while employed in this position. 
  • All drivers must agree to abide by the Drug-free Workplace company policy. Strict enforcement of drug and alcohol policies will be maintained 
  • Demonstrate qualities of leadership, responsibility, and maturity 
  • Willingness to accept new responsibilities and challenges while learning in the position 
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed 
  • Complete all tasks as assigned by Supervisor  

Specific Job Responsibilities: 

  • Operate a passenger vehicle safely and efficiently, obeying all speed limits and traffic laws 
  • Follow scheduled route exactly unless otherwise directed by the community leadership 
  • Assist passengers in boarding and exiting vehicles when needed. Load and unload luggage, packages and other items for riders requiring assistance 
  • Transmit and receive messages using the two-way radio system or cell phones. Monitor traffic and weather conditions and notify Supervisor of potential problems. Report accidents or other safety concerns to the local Police Department. 
  • Perform inspections of the assigned vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift 
  • Ensure inside and outside of the vehicle is properly cleaned and fueled on a daily basis. Ensure interior of vehicle is neat and orderly at all times 
  • Monitor vehicle condition and record malfunctioning items or any damage to the vehicle and submit report to Supervisor  
  • Accurately complete a Rider Log for each shift 
  • Fill out an Incident Report anytime there is a collision (even a mild scrape with an inanimate object), confrontation with a passenger, pedestrian or motorist, or whenever illegal behavior is observed. 
  • Treat all riders, pedestrians and fellow motorists in a courteous, friendly and professional manner
