Tribalco has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator Intermediate to join our team. This position works within a cohesive team environment supporting a large Government client with multiple locations and is responsible for maintaining industry and government IT compliance standards via scheduled deployments; managing and maintaining system patches; configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network routers, switches, and encryption devices in a predominately Cisco environment. This position focuses on ensuring production systems are secure, tuned for optimal performance, delivering required information to end-users, and interacting properly with Wide Area Networks (WANs). Other responsibilities include maximizing network environment monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with System Integration network architects. The Network Administrator will interface with other stakeholders and attend meetings, generate reports, and provide recommendations for enhancements and improvements. This position reports to the on-site IT Network/Unified Communications Lead.
Responsibilities
- Manage network performance and maintain network security.
- Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice, and/or audio communication activities.
- Prepare analysis of short/long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission, and signaling.
- Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
- Evaluate new technology. Duties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture, providing information for hardware and software selection, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conduct network system testing. Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Establish and implement network policies, procedures, and standards and ensure their conformance with information systems and the company’s objectives.
- Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals to meet outlined objectives.

Education and Certifications
- Network Administrator - Intermediate must have a master’s degree and three (3) years or more experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years or more experience; OR High School diploma and nine (9) years or more of hands-on experience managing complex, multi-equipment vendor, wide-area networks.
- Must possess expertise in the following technologies: routers, network switches, network encryption devices (e.g. KG/SG- 250), Ethernet, 802.1X, VPNs, GRE tunneling, CSUs/DSUs, TCP/IP, UDP, MPLS, IPv4, IPv6, ATM, SONET, PVCs, ACLs, MPLS, CWM, DWDM, SATCOM).
- All employees must possess the required credentials. Must meet required technical, information assurance (IA), computing environment, and training certifications and license requirements; and pass minimum experience qualification standards commensurate with their positions and responsibilities at the start date and keep those qualifications up to date to maintain their eligibility to perform in the position on the contract.
- Must have any one of the following certifications at a minimum: IAT Level II - CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP
- Must possess the following at the time of appointment: at least one commercial professional-level IT certification in network management (e.g. Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNP Data Center) as identified by the customer’s operational environment. Substitutions may be allowed but must be approved by the customer.
- Must be ITIL Foundation certified.
Knowledge
- Significant experience working with Cisco Networking Devices and network monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of networking, including TCP/IP, VLANs, Ethernet, SONET, switching, routing, and routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), 802.1Q, and DNS.
- Proven experience in a network administrator role.
- Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching.
- Excellent knowledge of best practices around managing, controlling, and monitoring server infrastructure.
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.
- Ability to set up and configure network hardware.
- Must have in-depth experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting HAIPE devices such as 175-series and 250-series TACLANEs.
- Candidate must have a solid knowledge of information security principles and practices and an advanced understanding of security protocols and standards.
- Experience and basic knowledge of networking components and various networking solutions in a cloud environment, including virtual firewalls, Software-defined networking, VPN for secure remote access, Software-defined perimeter, Intrusion detection systems
- Familiarity with Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and AWS., is a plus.
- Expertise in other Security Frameworks (ISO, NIST, COBIT, HIPAA/HITECH, etc.) and regulatory requirements is a plus.
Clearance
- Must have an active Secret clearance.
- Must have a valid Tier 5 Background Investigation resulting in eligibility for a Top-Secret Clearance within the last 4 years.
- US Citizenship is typically required for a security clearance.
