Tribalco is seeking a motivated Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller to direct the day-to-day operations of the Tribalco Accounting Department.  Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of all financial data within Tribalco, as well providing financial reports required by company management and regulatory agencies. Assists the Controller to direct and control the general accounting and cost accounting functions. Supervises the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the Deltek Costpoint accounting system ensuring the accurate presentation of financial results.
  • Monthly GL closes and performs balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assists with revenue recognition and quarterly estimate at completion updates for contracts
  • Assists with the issuance of financial reports to provide management with a precise review of the corporation’s financial position.
  • Responsible for compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll and other applicable taxes.
  • Oversees the accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and collection functions.
  • Contributes to audits by outside independent auditors and regulatory agencies; oversees preparation of requested items.
  • Establishes and maintains accounting policies and procedures. 
  • Publishes a monthly accounting calendar.
  • Ensures timely billing of work and the collection of accounts receivables.
  • Monitors cash disbursements and receipts to allow for maximum utilization of the company resources.
  • Maintain fixed assets ledger and inventory.
  • Support the development of the annual incurred cost submission to DCAA and rate pools.
  • In coordination with Human Resources, managing the training and development of accounting staff.
  • Look for ways to improve processes and controls already in place and/or implement new ones that are needed, especially ways to reduce days to close.
  • Provide management with timely, actionable, and quality information.
  • Contributes to annual external audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills

  • Strong experience with Government Federal Acquisition Regulation’s (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Ability to read, understand and apply contracts from a financial perspective
  • Knowledge of Fixed Price, T&M, and Cost-Plus contract types
  • Multiple divisions and multiple cost pools
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Multi-state payrolls
  • Financial Statement preparation
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to perform as a leader
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with all members of the Leadership Team to achieve corporate growth objectives
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • 10+ years experience in accounting and within the government contracting arena
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint software
  • Experience mentoring accounting staff, conducting indirect rate analyses, interfacing with operational and executive management, developing allocation schema, liaison with DCAA and external auditors
  • Excellent computer skills to include MS Office tools (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS PowerPoint)

 

Education and Certification

  • Bachelors’ degree (B.A.) or (B.S.) in accounting from a four-year college or university and advanced degree a plus
  • CPA preferred, but not required
