Summary

MUST HAVE INSURANCE/REINSURANCE EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
A Data and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on large complex Claims, and financial data. Independently works on Data Balancing and Controls of Operational Datawarehouse with multiple sources. Responsible for data accuracy and data integrity of data from all core business applications during monthly financial close. Work in collaboration with various business functions and stakeholders throughout the organization to promptly ensure accurate data is reported to Finance.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures proper reconciliation and balancing activities against our Operational Datastore.
  • Implements and executes data corrections during Monthly Closes.
  • Works independently with business individuals to resolve balancing or data issues.
  • Lead in the preparation and/or analysis of Billing Statements for multiple TPA/MEF Sources.
  • Creates and publishes monthly and quarterly business operational reports.
  • Collaborates with Finance, Actuarial, Internal Audit, and several other internal departments’ reports and validates the accuracy of financials.
  • Work with internal and external auditors on annual audit processes, financial reporting, SOX documentation, and testing.
  • Create, update, and maintain process and control documentation.
  • Provide guidance/support with SQL scripts for Data-driven issues as needed.
  • Document any data issues related to financial closes.
  • Administers and supports all development and migration projects including Claim Center and Policy Master by testing the claim, exposure, policy term, and coverage feeds to the ODS.
  • Ensure data standards are reused and enforced across all data-driven initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support project teams on the implementation of new processes and new sources.
  • Review and analyze financial close difference reports.

Required Skills

  • Must have Insurance/Reinsurance Experience to be considered.
  • Proficient in T-SQL, stored procedures, and ability to understand ETL Flows.
  • Advanced level of technical competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Excel skills (V look ups & pivot tables), data querying languages such as T-SQL, and ability to write and execute advanced level data queries.
  • Consistently delivers superior customer service to both internal and external business partners.
  • Flexibility required to manage multiple initiatives as needed, including those that require significant research, analysis and reconciliation.
  • Detailed understanding and interpretation of Claims, Policies, and Contracts.
  • Ability to compare data sources, reports, or results over time and prepare concise trend analyses and observations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Very strong Organizational skills and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to work very effectively in a team environment and support and mentor associates.
  • Ability to align with, and behave in accordance with, RiverStone commitments and culture.

  • Familiarity with corporate organization/structures/principles

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in Data Analysis required.
  • Reinsurance and Claims Business Knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience with advanced analytics and PowerBI is a plus.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Management, or similar degree

Preferred Education or Certification

Certification in Data analysis and reporting preferred

Work Environment / Physical Demands 

This position operates in a professional based collaborative environment and must have the ability to timely produce thorough, accurate work with many competing demands, deadlines, and distractions. The position uses standard equipment such as phones, computers, copiers/printers and filing cabinets. Noise level is moderate.
