The opportunity

Our growing and fabulously fun Human Resources team is seeking an ambitious Payroll Manager. This new role will report directly to the Director of HR Systems in Waterloo, WI and assume the great responsibility of overseeing all aspects of our North American Payroll. This individual must be self-motivated, organized, analytical and detail-oriented. A passion for leadership is critical, in addition to effective communication skills and the ability to construct, manage and present analytical results. Enthusiastic about diving into the details? What you’ll do

  • Perform all activities necessary to process payroll within Trek’s new HRIS platform, Workday
  • Check and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records
  • Utilize HRIS/payroll and time/attendance systems for payroll processing activities, including computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for paycheck advances, and processing terminations
  • Review new hire information for accuracy, post changes in pay and tax status, and other miscellaneous changes
  • Complete domestic accounting reconciliations, including payroll related accrual and tax accounts
  • Complete domestic salary and related tax expense responsibility for budget, forecast, and actuals
  • Assist with annual audit, providing support schedules, fielding inquiries, and coordinating auditor requests
  • Drive reporting and process improvements
  • Manage a growing team and process portfolio, specially for our Retail business
  • Remain flexible and support the team in additional capacities as needed

Requirements

  • 2 – 6 years of payroll experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in in Accounting or related field preferred (Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required)
  • Certified Payroll Professional preferred
  • Previous Workday payroll system experience preferred
  • Ability to develop and lead strong processes and controls
