Summary: Infrastructure Management is responsible for effective leadership of the Infrastructure, Network, and Database Administration teams. These teams ensure successful operation, management, and delivery of all assigned infrastructure services, including servers, storage, local area network, wide area network, wireless networking, mobile device management, database administration, monitoring, voice, remote access, desktop-server-storage virtualization platforms and services (production and non-production), data center management, colocation services, and disaster recovery services and would include both Platform/Software as a Service or on premises internally hosted offerings. Because of the dependencies which exist between these systems and the services offered by the organization across lines of business, the Infrastructure team provides critical support to the success of Travis Credit Union (TCU) and its members by ensuring efficient, strategic use of infrastructure services offered by Technology Solutions. 
 
Profile:
  • Ensures ongoing development of staff to attain new knowledge, skills and abilities to support the organization’s internal and external mission.
  • Leads, motivates, trains, and directs the Infrastructure, Network, and Database teams to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Keeps abreast of and employs best practices in the areas of operations management, service management, and infrastructure management methodologies & processes, incident and change control processes, testing, documentation development and maintenance, project delivery, monitoring, data management, environment maintenance, solution enhancements, and solution development/architecture.
  • Identifies, understands, and plans for organizational and human impacts of systems, and ensures business requirements are properly documented and integrated with existing processes, services, solutions, and skill sets.
  • Ensures the continuous development and documentation of infrastructure operations procedures, test and release requirements, environment management practices, and quality control and assurance standards and functions.
  • Directs or participates in the collection, analysis, and development of reports and various metrics for internal reporting, such as environment performance and availability management, defect rates, service level compliance, and change rates.
  • Leads or supervises the incident and change response activities for assigned services or platforms, including internal communication, resolution, documentation, execution, problem management, root cause analysis, and similar.
  • Assists or leads the creation, review, and approval of change requests to ensure facilitation of and adherence to the Change Management processes and industry best practices.
  • Assists in developing user and system documentation in consideration of Travis Credit Union policies and procedures which impact the use of platforms and services and are consistent with industry best practices.
  • Continuously adheres to industry best practices and Travis Credit Union policies and procedures for the successful completion and delivery of work.

  • Proven success to learn and successfully employ vendor and TCU supplied tools and services for service configuration, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support.
  • Successful history of employing or leading the employment of multiple application data models, interfaces, and exchanges, and utilize appropriate environments (e.g. Test, Staging, and Production) in support of assigned responsibilities.
  • Measurable success in designing and leading the design of processes for the efficient use of assigned platforms or services.
  • Ability to effectively manage employees with varied skills working a variety of schedules, including on-call rotations either on premises or remotely.
  • Success in leading, initiating, planning, executing and closing phases of projects as required.
  • Works independently and demonstrates good judgment, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

  • Ability to manage a team of technical and business staff to complete project objectives, delivery of operational support services, or other initiatives and responsibilities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and vendors.
  • Proven history of successfully managing vendors, contracts, invoices, and product licensing.
  • Works in a collaborative and partnership manner.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule, to include changing work hours/days.
 
Reporting and Experience 
  • Reports directly to the AVP, Infrastructure & Operations.
  • Direct Management responsibilities for all assigned staff.
  • BA/BS and 3 years of managerial experience, or 8 years of progressive management and/or leadership experience, supervising technical teams who manage and deliver diverse technical services in a highly regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years total of related work experience.
Manager, Infrastructure - Grade 21 -  $132,620.80/annually - $163,820.80/annually
