This position is remote; however candidates must live in California - preferably Northern California.
Summary: Travis Credit Union’s (TCU) Business Banking Relationship Manager (BBRM) is responsible for the development and growth of TCU’s business member relationships. In addition to deepening relationships with existing business members, the BBRM is also responsible for identifying and establishing new business relationships. TCU’s BBRM is a strategic role in strengthening TCU’s relationships within the communities it serves.
Profile:
- Develops prospects from self-sourced leads and may include existing members, referral leads, Credit Union partners and other sources.
- Contacts prospective business members to present information on TCU services such as deposit accounts, lending, treasury management and commercial real estate financing.
- Ensures business loans are structured in a manner that meets both customer needs and TCU loan policies.
- Delivers an outstanding experience to TCU business members by providing comprehensive and customized business banking solutions tailored to the financial needs and circumstances of their businesses. Uses knowledge of business, finance, credit and risk management to identify, recommend and promote solutions that best serve the client and ensure the profitability of the portfolio. Works within risk parameters that protect the credit union. Partners with subject matter experts to ensure a positive member experience.
- Grows portfolio by prospecting for new members and deepening relationships with existing clients; utilizes extensive referral networks and centers of influence to independently identify and pursue potential new business clients, looking for ways to cultivate long-term, primary banking relationships.
- Identifies the personal financial goals and needs of business clients; builds collaborative relationships with partners across lines of business (Wealth Management, Home Lending, Branch Teams) to connect clients with specialists who can help meet their financial needs.
- Protects the credit union by following sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Leverages established relationship development process by identifying steps/strategies necessary to effectively maintain and build relationships with clients and prospects.
- Works with the Commercial Risk Officer in obtaining necessary financial and other information for the purpose of performing periodic reviews and renewals.
- Assists as needed in the closing and servicing of loans.
Skills:
- Knowledge of economic market in the communities TCU serves.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, income tax, finance and loan economics.
- Thorough knowledge of credit union business products, services, rates and fee schedules.
- Proficient in database marketing techniques to include canvassing and cold calling.
- Proven ability to meet sales objectives, recognize customer needs and match them to business products.
- Knowledge of structuring business and commercial loans.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent public speaking skills and the ability to prepare and effectively facilitate presentations.
- Ability to interact with diverse groups of people including business community members, potential borrowers and referral agents in a professional manner.
- Ability to properly balance sales performance and credit quality.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Working knowledge of commercial and/or Small Business Administration (SBA) lending regulations, guidelines and best practices.
- Excellent business development and sales/service skill.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Salesforce.
Reporting and Experience:
Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager – $130K+Variable Pay / Non-Exempt
- Reports directly to VP, Business Services.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience; or equivalent professional experience.
- SBA loan program knowledge required.
- Treasury product knowledge required.
- Minimum of 5 year of business services sales experience.
Commercial Banking Relationship Manager – $160K+Variable Pay / Non-Exempt
- Reports directly VP, Business Services.
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or a Master's degree and 6 years’ experience; or equivalent professional experience.
- Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan knowledge required.
- Treasury product knowledge required.
- Minimum of 8 years’ of business/commercial sales experience.
