We are looking for Human Resources Assistant in Commerce City, Colorado to make travel and meeting arrangements, prepare reports, and maintain appropriate filing systems. We are seeking organized and computer literate professionals with excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently perform the day-to-day tasks of our office.

Our Human Resources Assistant are responsible for:

  • Work with location management and region human resources personnel to develop recruitment 
    strategies that meet location needs. 
  • Under the direction and guidance of region HR conduct investigations into employee related matters 
    where appropriate, while keeping appropriate management informed and maintaining confidentiality. 
  • Provide appropriate recommendations to General Manager and location management regarding 
    disciplinary related matters. Write disciplinary memos, as needed and in accordance with the CBA. 
  • Conduct interviews and on- board new employees while ensuring company hiring standards are met and 
    in compliance with state and federal guidelines. 
  • Update HR related reports, complete employee change requests and process paperwork accordingly. 
  • Administer employee leave/FMLA requests in according with company guidelines. 
  • Administer the security and integrity of personnel files. Coordinate with the Safety Manager to ensure 
    files are kept within company, state and federal guidelines. 
  • Assist in planning location events. 
  • Files papers and documents in appropriate employee files. Ensure all paperwork utilized at the facility is 
    up to date, to include applications, interview outlines, I-9 forms, etc. 
  • Conducts exit interviews and process terminations appropriately. Ensure all involuntary terminations are 
    reviewed with location General Manager and region HR. 
  • Participate in union contract negotiations, as needed. 
  • Ensures offers of employment are extended utilizing the appropriate offer letter. 
  • Work with Safety Manager to process background, drug screens, and E-verify in compliance with 
    company, state and federal guidelines. 
  • Research, identify and establish business relationships with recruiting sources and the local community, 
    attend company job fairs, as appropriate. 
  • Provide employees with benefit statements, and reconciles benefit statements. Ensure employees 
    receive benefit enrollment materials. 
  • Updates HR spreadsheet with employee change request and processes paperwork. 
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, location management, Corporate employees, and outside vendors. 
    Provide appropriate documentation and follow-up. 
  • Ensures compliance with company policy and procedures. Maintain compliance with local, state, and 
    federal guidelines. 
  • Makes photocopies, faxes documents, prepares correspondence, and performs other clerical functions. 
  • Assists region HR management with projects. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

To qualify as a Human Resources Assistant, you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred. PHR certification a plus
  • Minimum 2-4 years Human Resources experience 
  • Must be able to work with minimal instruction, but willing to accept and take direction.
  • Prior experience with the use of modern business applications and skills. (Knowledge of internet 
    applications, networks, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to recommend appropriate course of action with employee concerns, make independent decisions, 
    set priorities, measure progress, implement rewards or recommend discipline as required.
  • Ability to use diplomacy and tact in dealing with the client, peers and subordinates.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent desire to provide excellent customer service is a must.
  • Ability to listen to employee concerns, and act on those concerns appropriately.
