OVERVIEW:
The Station Supervisor will be responsible for supervising day-to-day activities of operators to ensure compliance with operational requirements for safe bus operations. The Station Supervisor plays a vital role in enhancing the overall experience of passengers using public transportation services. This position involves providing courteous assistance, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant journey for all passengers. The Station Supervisor serves as a friendly and knowledgeable point of contact for passengers, offering guidance, information, and support as needed. They will also provide support, advice, and guidance to operators in responding to a variety of issues, assess situations and determine the appropriate course of action (e.g., additional training, counseling) to prevent further occurrences in the future. The Station Supervisor will be responsible for observing and reporting on-time efficiency daily as assigned.

DUTIES:

  • Assess Customer needs; Exercise good oral and written communication skills, whilst articulating relevant information and directions in an organized and concise manner; Takes proactive steps to maintain positive experiences.
  • Provide real-time updates on service disruptions, delays, or other issues affecting transit operations, and offer alternative travel options or solutions to minimize inconvenience for passengers.
  • Promotes a positive customer experience by offering support and guidance to individuals requiring assistance with trip planning and information on service app.

  • Informs customers about new product/service features and functionalities; Collaborates with various team members across departments to problem solve and exceed customer expectations.
  • Conduct Bus service observations to ensure service is timely and proper implementation of all operating rules, and procedures are performed.
  • Uses the radio to provide maximum, yet efficient communications to Window Dispatchers and/or BOCC. 
  • Ensure on-time-performance specifications.
  • Prepares and submits required reports in a timely manner.
  • Responds to any service-related assignments.
  • Communicate face-to-face with the riding public as outreach and customer service, and to answer any questions on the ground.
  • Assesses safety conditions of all aspects of bus service and monitors operator and passenger behavior while in service. 
  • Oversees a smooth commuting experience for Operator and the public and share “best practices” with entire team.
  • Work collaboratively with transit operators, dispatchers, and other staff members to coordinate service delivery and address passenger concerns or emergencies promptly.
  • Escalates issues to management team members when necessary. 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Degree preferred.
  • Preferably a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the transportation industry with emphasis on safety.
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience.
  •  Familiarity with Title VII laws.
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations/guidelines, inclusive of DOT, FTA, and FMCSA.
  • Ability to interpret and initiate policies and procedures.
  • Considerable knowledge of and ability to use personnel computers and related software.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and understand problems and to determine the appropriate measures it takes to solve problems.
  • Considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, excel and other Office packages.
  • Ability to manage customer relationships, provide strong customer service skills and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proven organization skills, understanding importance of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple tasks in an environment with ever competing demands.
  • Superb communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a client-centered approach.
  • Skills in time management and effective work processes.
  • Ability to read and write legibly and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to count and list numbers accurately and keep accurate records.
  • Being Multi-Lingual is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
