Join the Transdev team and launch your career! We are currently hiring a Utility Worker for our COTA contract in Columbus, Ohio.
Utility workers maintain vehicles and perform basic vehicle and servicing duties such as detail cleaning, fueling equipment, and cleaning the fleet of vehicles in conjunction with Transdev's Maintenance Department.

Responsibilities:
- Washes exterior of vehicles using power washer and brushes; sweeps/mops floors; and removes trash from vehicles.
- Drives, maneuvers, and parks all company vehicles safely.
- Fuels buses, replenishes fluids (if needed), and logs or records all fluids used.
- Switch out fare boxes for service daily.
- Performs light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities.
- Report any maintenance issues to the Maintenance Manager
- Other duties as assigned and or required.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a minimum of three years of driving experience and a good driving record.
Preferred Experience:
- 1 year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions in English.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided.
- Ability to learn shop processes including fueling vehicles and cleaning vehicles.
- Ability to mix and use a variety of cleaning products safely.
- Ability to use various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, power washers, etc.
- Strong attention to detail
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must submit to drug testing, DOT physical examination, and a criminal background check.
Physical Demands:
- Less than 10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
- Greater than 90% of work is accomplished in an open garage facility.
- Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand and wrist motions; repetitive use of legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- May be asked to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Assistance is available as needed.
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, universal precautions is required. You will have access to safety protective gear.
