About the Role: The Director, Financial Systems & Reporting is responsible for leading and managing the department that oversees all back-office systems integrated with the ERP, with a primary focus on financial operational processing while also covering other business functions. This role includes custom development, packaged application configuration, interfaces, report development, data management, migration, and integration. The director ensures accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting tools while driving process improvements and system enhancements. This position requires a hands-on leader with advanced back-office systems integration knowledge and advanced programming and data skills. The XXXX plays a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of their department and ensuring alignment with the overall goals of the organization. Additionally, the director serves as the curator, manager, and gatekeeper of enterprise-wide master data, ensuring compliance with data standards and effective data sharing across all departments, including IT, Data Services, Safety, and Business Solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

Departmental Leadership and Team Leadership:

  • Develop and implement departmental strategies and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of in-house and 3rd party technical and techno-functional specialist resources, including employment decisions such as hiring and discipline.
  • Oversee 3rd party support and development resources, including offshore staffing models.
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure the successful execution of projects and initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for day-to-day, end user support for over 200 ERP and related back-office users.

Collaboration and Cross-Functional Initiatives:

  • Foster collaborative and cooperative relationships with various teams within the organization.
  • Serve as an IT advisor to key corporate departments, providing guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with other department heads to drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Represent the department in meetings with senior management or external stakeholders.

Back-Office Systems Management:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of all back-office systems that integrate with an ERP, including P2P, HCM, IMS.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial, operational KPIs, and company master data across all systems.
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance and support functions within the financial systems unit.
  • Participate actively in system integration projects, providing hands-on expertise.

Enterprise Master Data Management:

  • Oversee the stewardship, administration, and safeguarding of enterprise master data.
  • Ensure data is shared effectively and accurately with other departments, including IT, Data Services, Safety, and Business Solutions.
  • Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of all financial, operational, KPI, and company master data and sensitive information.

Hands-On Technical Expertise:

  • Utilize advanced back-office systems integration knowledge to lead complex enterprise-wide system projects.
  • Apply advanced programming and data skills to develop and enhance financial systems and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to financial systems and integrations.

Project Management:

  • Produce accurate cost and schedule estimates for proposed projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop long-range systems and business plans to support the organization.
  • Provide architectural leadership in the selection, design, and deployment of financial infrastructure and software products.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Direct continuous improvement activities to enhance processes and systems.
  • Integrate back-office systems and accounting processes acquired through mergers and acquisitions.
  • Act as advisor and key contributor to Integration Management Office (IMO) activities related to Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).

Financial & Operational Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain reporting processes and reports for executive leadership, operations - in compliance with the Group’s Operating Model (TOM), clients and other and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual Finance IT audits.

 

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Transdev Group standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in systems management and advanced reporting.
    • At least ten years of relevant experience required.
    • Three to five years of supervisory experience required.
    • Proven track record of leading and implementing systems and reporting processes.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience in a transportation environment preferred.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Advanced programming and data skills (e.g., SQL, SSIS, Java, Restful and SOAP APIs).
    • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
    • Knowledge of financial system best practices and vendors.
    • Advanced knowledge of back-office & 3rd party systems integration.
    • Ability to interpret, apply, and improve processes and procedures.
    • Strong leadership abilities, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.

Work Location:

This position is based in the Lombard HQ location.
