Human Resources Recruiter - MTA Wicomico


OVERVIEW:
The main responsibility of the Recruiter is to coordinate high volume recruitment activities, full life cycle recruitment.

Position subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:
  • $23.73 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)
    • Starting pay $23.73 with progression to $24.97 over 1 year.
Benefits include:
  • Vacation: 1st year of service: 72 hours 
  • Paid Sick Leave: Employees with less than 1 year of service shall accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave in accordance with the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act and shall be able to start using this accrued time on the 107th day following the employees’ date of hire. 
  • Insurance: Medical, Dental & Vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401K retirement benefits, and company holidays.

DUTIES:

  1. Very high volume, full life cycle recruiting for drivers primarily, other positions as assigned
  2. Manage applicant flow, disposition candidates and documenting applicants appropriately in ATS (JobVite)
  3. Manage applicant flow, disposition candidates and documenting applicants appropriately in ATS (JOBVITE).
  4. Coordinates the hiring process including candidate screening, hiring, new employee setup, payroll.
  5. Conduct phone screenings and in person interviewing of high-volume applicants.
  6. Manage on site career events/job fairs.
  7. Local travel to provide outreach in the community.
  8. Answer employee questions regarding forms and procedures and refer to Manager or appropriate staff member as needed.
  9. Gathers information for departmental reports.
  10. Assists with the understanding of human resource policies and procedures.
  11. Maintains confidentiality of all information.
  12. All duties relating to HR compliance
  13. Other tasks assigned


REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant human resource experience, including recruiting, selection, and employee relations.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • ATS, HRIS & ADP experience is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS (cont.):

  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Requires the ability to work amid constant interruptions and the ability to prioritize and deal with time pressures.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
