OVERVIEW:
The utility worker must be able to perform basic shop duties. They must also be able to perform detailed cleaning with
limited supervision. Not every duty is assigned to each utility worker on each shift.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must submit to drug testing. We do test for all drugs including marijuana.
  • Must consent to a background check
  • Must be able to maintain a DOT medical card
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driving license in good standing

What you will be doing:
• Responsible and accountable for cleaning the interior and exterior of the bus using bus washer and or occasional
high pressure slash steam equipment of transit vehicles in preparation for daily services
• responsible for fueling, moving, parking, or positioning of vehicles
• will report any obvious defects associated with the bus
• responsible for housekeeping duties in the shop and office building
• moving building, office and shop equipment as needed
• bus switch outs and taking vehicles to outside vendors as needed
• complete all documentation of work completed in accordance to company policy to ensure orderly and accurate
record keeping
• perform other maintenance related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of shop safety standards
• Must have a strong commitment to safety
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Must be self-motivated and able to perform duties without constant or immediate supervision
• Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts
• Must have the ability to work as a team

• Less than 10% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facility
• Greater than 90% of work is accomplished in an open garage facility
• Performance physical activities that require considerable use of the arms repetitive hand wrist motion, and legs
and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balance, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
• May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, you will have access to safety protective gear
