The Instructional Designer is creative and detail-oriented who will design, develop, enhance, and curate engaging learning experiences for our workforce. They will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), trainers,, and department leads to create high-impact training materials—both digital and in-person—that support knowledge transfer, skill development, and performance improvement across the organization, while also organizing a diverse portfolio of new and existing training materials within our learning management system.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Lead the full lifecycle of instructional design for TAS training programs—this includes independently analyzing needs, developing curriculum, and deploying content for both digital and in-person formats.
  • Uphold and integrate Transdev’s high safety standards into all training content and instructional materials.
  • Develop a variety of instructional materials such as eLearning modules, facilitator guides, simulations, assessments, and job aids that enhance learning and promote on-the-job application.
  • Apply adult learning theories, instructional design models, and accessibility standards to ensure materials are effective, inclusive, and engaging for a diverse audience.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Trainers, HR, and Department Leads to gather content, validate technical accuracy, and align learning solutions with business goals.
  • Own and manage the organization, maintenance, and version control of training content within the company’s Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Use learner feedback, performance data, and business metrics to evaluate and improve training materials and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Ensure all content remains compliant with company policies, regulatory standards, and client-specific requirements.
  • Maintain flexibility to adapt training content to meet evolving operational needs and market launches, often under tight timelines.
  • Operate autonomously in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment, while also contributing to collaborative efforts with internal stakeholders.
  • Track progress, meet project deadlines, and manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and time management.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing instructional content, preferably in a corporate or organizational setting is preferred;
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Four-year college degree (preferred) in a related field like education or communication;
  • Experience with Rippling LMS or equivalent software preferred

 

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Chat, including Sheets and Docs);
  • Must be able to type at least 40 adjusted wpm.
  • Must have good attention to detail and be able to quickly and concisely describe their thoughts;
  • Capable of responding quickly and simultaneously to multiple scenarios;
  • Adapt quickly to new and developing technology and industry standards
  • Must be able to multitask multiple technologies and including communications devices
  • Must be able to work specific shifts, including early mornings, evenings, overnights and/or weekends; occasionally may be required to work overtime and be recalled for peak operational demand.
  • Travel less than 5% of the time
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; and
  • Must be self-motivated and demonstrate good judgment, in fast-paced, high stress environments.
Physical Requirements:
  • Use of extremities to include hands/fingers/grip and; handle or feel; and talk or hear; climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Must use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Must be 21 years old;
  • Does not have more than 1 point on the driving record (California), or one non-major moving violation in the preceding three years;

  • All Transdev employees must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Safety Sensitive Positions will also be subject to a physical screening
