About the Role: Transdev is the largest private sector operator of multiple modes of passenger transit in North America. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to join our US Business Development team! As Director of Business Development, you will develop contract business opportunities, form new business partnerships and be responsible for growing our transportation business across multiple business lines. We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational skill and attention to detail, as well as an ability to manage multiple projects. Building lasting client partnerships and performing extensive analysis that results in successful business strategies are important aspects of the position.

The annual salary range for this role is $140,000-170,000 plus participation in the Sales Incentive Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements plans to improve and expand the organization’s strategic market position and to achieve growth and financial profitability.
  • Manages and coordinates the Request for Proposal process including but not limited to positioning, proposal management, presentation preparation, and pricing/cost structure.
  • Contributes to the development and refinement of the company’s vision and strategy; assists in ensuring that the organization maximizes its profitability goals while delivering high quality safe and customer focused service.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the competitive market, including public and private transportation providers; completes competitor market analyses.
  • Participates in trade association meetings at the national, state and regional level.
  • Interacts with the political leadership and stakeholders of communities.
  • Responsible for maintaining long term client relationships, both prior to procurement and after.
  • Other duties as required.

 

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Management, Business, Transportation or related field.

 

Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience in sales and/or business development in a public transit environment. Operations experience is a plus.

 

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Ability to manage projects across the business.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent writing and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to interface with all customer management levels. 
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative environment.
  • Willing to travel extensively working from a home or field office
