Media Relations Coordinator

Overview of Position:

Responsible for supporting Transdev’s media relations and external communications function.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and draft press releases (new contracts, new executives, thought leadership topics, corporate announcements, etc.)
  • Research and draft website, brochure, flyer or other supporting copy
  • Propose, research, and draft social media posts/thought leadership articles for key executives based on our story wheel/editorial calendar
  • Serve as a team member in the PIO function/role
  • Support in the case of strikes, accidents, or other media items
  • Supports internal or external corporate presentations
  • Supports other marketing and communication initiatives as required

 

Other duties as required.

 

Education, Licensing, and Certifications:

Education: College, university, or equivalent degree in marketing, communications or a related subject required

 

Education Preferred:

 

Experience:

Field and years of experience required: 1-3 years relevant work experience. Writing expertise required and exposure to media relations tasks and corporate function highly preferred.

 

Experience preferred:

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Highly organized and methodical
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

 

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

 

Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent) <10%

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities
  • Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.
  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
