Here at Trade Me we're expanding our capacity to deliver value to our customers faster and more reliably. A critical success factor to this is the ability to deliver value in partnership with the right vendors. This means we have an exciting new opportunity to join our team as a Procurement Manager. This role will establish our procurement practice and develop consistent governance & engagement models with our partner vendors.  This role will ideally be based out of Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

#Learning
Whether it's on the job, formal training, mentoring or something else, you'll grow with us from Day 1.

Here's what you can expect from this role:
* You'll own the procurement practices for Trade Me, with the freedom to establish these practices how you see fit - but you'll also have the support to succeed and deliver meaningful outcomes for Trade Me.
* You'll be looked towards as an expert on the industry landscape, so that existing and prospective vendors are engaged for the right services at the right time.
* You'll lead market engagement activities, and ensure vendor selection activities (such as RFPs or agile procurement) drive the right outcomes for Trade Me.
* You'll lead commercial negotiations and maintain financial oversight of vendor engagements, ensuring maximum value and minimal waste.
* You'll own the governance structures for vendor relationships, then leverage those structures to resolve issues, mitigate risks and identify service improvement opportunities that may exist.
* You'll align with and be a champion for best-practice delivery and agile methodologies, ensuring that the partnership's ways of working are cohesive and adapt as needed.

What you will bring to our team:
* The ability to successfully establish and lead a procurement practice for a business whose demands are primarily for professional and software services.
* High-quality & results-focused leadership of market engagement activities and vendor negotiations, being able to provide a clear line of sight from intent to outcome.
* An outstanding communicator - able to explain ideas simply & clearly, listen carefully to others, and proactively improve team communication.
* Great at building strong relationships, influencing and collaborating with others.
* Energy, drive and enthusiasm for excellent results and a genuine desire to help and motivate others.
* 3+ years Procurement Management, ideally in the IT sector.
* Experience working in a hybrid project environment, using both waterfall and agile product delivery approaches where appropriate.

We know some candidates can be reluctant to apply for roles if they feel they don't 'tick all the boxes'. If you're excited about this opportunity, we'd still really like to hear from you.
