The Director, Strategy & Margin Optimization will identify and leverage our company's core competencies, capabilities, and competitive advantages as the foundation for corporate strategic planning with an emphasis on margin optimization and profitability. This role will oversee pricing and promotion throughout the product life cycle from initial ticket pricing to promotional and markdown optimization. Exceptionally strong analytical skills, with a focus on detailed execution of processes, are required to deliver strategic pricing effectiveness and expand product margins.

What You'll Do:

  • Own commercial calendar and collaborate with Merchandising, Planning, Marketing and Digital teams on promotional planning & execution
  • Develop process, tool set and repository for capturing promotional results across all KPIs
  • Scenario modeling for lifetime margin optimization at all levels of the product hierarchy
  • Testing and establishing of new pricing strategies
  • Communicate recommendations based on forecasted financial impact of changes in pricing strategy
  • Conduct competitive pricing & promotion analysis
  • Identify, quantify, validate and execute adjacent and white pace opportunities that strengthen market position and align with brand growth objectives.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, evaluate new business opportunities and expansions.
  • Build business cases to support strategic revenue and margin driving opportunities and initiatives requiring capital expenditure. 
  • Develop comprehensive business plans for new business opportunities and concepts as well as assist in acquisition evaluation.
  • Serve as an internal consultant for key business leaders in vetting strategic ideas. 
  • Define Enterprise Project Roadmaps in partnership with Project Management Office (PMO) and C-Suite
  • Prioritize strategic initiatives for the greatest return, both short-term ROI and long-term health of the business.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred
  • 5-7 years of related experience
  • Superior analytical skills 
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance workload effectively
  • Must be a self-starter and able to take projects from concept to completion. 
  • Strong leadership skills including; interpersonal, collaborative and problem-solving.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with all levels of leadership. 
  • Ability to lead and influence counterparts throughout the organization to be effective in delivering strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent planning and analytical prowess with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data. 
  • Specialty and eCommerce branded retail experience.

Salary range based upon experience $130K-$185K with bonus potential.
