Our executive team relies on the Financial Planning & Analysis department to provide the information required to get a clear understanding of the current financial situation and drive the business performance. As Director of FP&A, you’ll provide leadership for financial analysis, planning and forecasting. You will be part of a team analyzing data, preparing analyses, reviewing reports on historical and projected trends in performance, financial returns and other financial and operational information to support decision-making for Torrid. 

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for Company budgeting, forecasting, financial systems, BI development, and ad-hoc analysis across the company
  • Continually refine and manage the Planning cycle process and subsequent coordination and communication
  • Build strong relationships and frequently interact with finance business partners to develop a clear understanding of business issues; you’ll use this to stay ahead of challenges before they become pain points
  • Develop financial presentations for Sr. Management and Board of Directors meetings (you love showing off your PowerPoint skills)
  • Provide leadership to team development and maintenance of financial models supporting Balance Sheet / Cash Flow forecasting, and the consolidation of channel / divisional forecasts
  • Provide leadership with broad responsibilities including planning for indirect expenses including cross functional departments; you know how to get the best out of both people and process
  • Lock arms with Accounting staff in monthly review of financial statements as part of close process and understand significant variances to forecast. You roll up your sleeves and aren’t intimidated by technical accounting
  • Assess process improvement opportunities that enhance the efficiency of the financial planning cycle while also increasing the informative value of the content provided to Sr. Management
  • Self-directed, self-motivated personality. Work with limited direction to prepare and deliver fact-based recommendations to senior management

What You’ll Need:

  • A big picture view on financial analysis; you are in the moment and 12 months ahead all at the same time
  • Top notch Excel skills with ability to design and maintain complex financial models and to create high quality financial presentations
  • At least Seven years of progressive financial analysis and accounting experience in a retail environment; it’s important you know our industry
  • Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated analytical proficiency in data research and interpretation
  • Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
