Oncology RN - Hunt Cancer Center
Description
Primary duties include:
· Establish IV access utilizing peripheral or central catheters per protocol. Drug should only be prepared once an IV access is established and labs verified.
· Administer chemotherapeutic agents per protocol, strictly adhering to EMR orders and verifying all doses with another RN or Pharmacy prior to administration.
· Assess patients for side effects and/or symptoms and perform physical exam appropriate to the assessment. Consult with MD or NP for changes in mediations or new orders.
· Maintain a therapeutic environment where patients are the focus and your peers are your team
· Provide a safe environment for both patients and peers adhering to OSHA guidelines and using PPE as provided.
