Description

The Staff RN uses the nursing process to deliver nursing care to a given patient care population as it relates to the care setting. Nursing care is based on the interpretation and execution of the medical and nursing plan of treatment utilizing established procedures standards and protocols of individuals within the assigned work shift. The Staff RN provides nursing care to the population served in the unit.

Department Specific Competencies

Serves as an integral member of the Orthopedic Center of Excellence Program.
Assesses and identifies nursing diagnoses and treats patient conditions for which orthopedic patient are at risk, including but not limited to pan, impaired physical mobility, self-care deficits, impaired skin integrity, body image disturbance, and post-trauma response.
Assesses, identifies nursing diagnoses and treat orthopedic patient conditions such as total joint replacement (hip and knee).
Applies the nursing process as the basis for clinical judgment and decision making, nursing theory, and research, as well as specific orthopedic knowledge.
Collaborates with consumers and other member of the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure comprehensive orthopaedic education and treatment programs are established and maintained for a variety of health care settings.
Cares for patients with musculoskeletal injuries, including use of immobilization and ambulatory assistive devices.

Education

Degree

ADN, BSN or MSN in Nursing 

BSN/MSN Degree or Associate degree in Nursing - Bachelors or Masters program with completion within 3 years.

License / Certification Requirements

Registered Nurse License
BCLS or ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association

 

Compensation Range:
$42.42 - $54.18 / Hour
